Fillings and Toppings

To be honest, most times I like fresh bread just as it is, or perhaps with a little butter or soft cheese.  Especially, I don't like adding anything except butter to sweet breads.

However, here are some of the fillings I like with bread, in no particular order:

Soft cheese, dill, and smoked salmon
Soft cheese, black pepper and proscuitto ham
Canned sardines or mackerel, mashed with capers.
Canned sardines or mackerel, mashed with capers and grated cheese and grilled on a toasted roll
Hot baked beans on a toasted buttered roll
Mashed boiled egg with salt (or mayonnaise) and freshly ground black pepper, on thickly sliced white bread
